Next, join a workshop to make canang sari, small offerings used in Balinese spiritual activities. Guided by local women, learn the philosophy behind each element: janur, flowers, porosan, and incense. Master the technique of arranging canang sari with your own hands and create a set of offerings to be used in the melukat ritual. After making your offerings, head to a sacred water temple to perform the melukat ritual—a purification process believed to cleanse the mind, heart, and negative energy. Receive a sarong and sash as ritual attire, get step-by-step guidance from a local guide, and cleanse yourself under the holy water flowing from natural springs.
