WEST SUMBAWA

West Sumbawa can be easily accessed from Lombok, the island just to the west, and has an international airport which opened in 2012. There are high speed ferries from East Lombok twice daily which take about 45 minutes to West Sumbawa Newmont Ferry Port, which it is only 20 minutes to Scar Reef. In the area further south you will find the famous Super Suck wave, which is about a 30 minute drive from Scar Reef.

The well-known Yo-Yo's and Tropical waves are only a short scenic drive away. Surfers from around the world come to West Sumbawa, and the West Sumbawa government is currently pushing for tourism development, in line with splitting regionally from the Central Lombok Government.
