Description

Bali to Ijen Blue Fire Begin with an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Bali. Drive west across Bali to Gilimanuk Port, passing through Balinese villages and picturesque landscapes. Board a ferry for a 1-hour crossing to Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, East Java. From Ketapang Port, transfer to a local guesthouse or hotel near the Ijen foothills. Relax, have dinner, and prepare for your midnight trek. Around midnight, begin your trek up Mount Ijen. Accompanied by a local guide, hike for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the crater rim. Witness the rare 'blue fire' phenomenon, caused by the combustion of sulfuric gases that emerge from cracks in the volcano at high temperatures. See sulfur miners carrying heavy loads of sulfur up and down the crater. As dawn approaches, enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the turquoise acid lake within the crater. After enjoying the sunrise and the blue fire, descend from Ijen and head back to your accommodation for breakfast and a short rest. Bromo Sunrise & Return to Bali After checking out, drive for approximately 4-5 hours towards the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area. Upon arrival, switch to a 4x4 jeep to ascend to a sunrise viewpoint, typically Penanjakan or King Kong Hill. Witness an unforgettable sunrise over the volcanic caldera, with Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and the mighty Mount Semeru (Java's highest peak) emerging through the mist. After sunrise, the jeep will take you down to the 'Sea of Sand,' the vast volcanic plain surrounding Mount Bromo. Hike or take a horse ride across the sandy terrain to the base of Bromo's crater. A short climb up a set of stairs leads you to the active crater, where you can peer into the smoking caldera. After exploring Bromo, return to your local guesthouse for breakfast and check-out. Then, embark on the long journey back to Ketapang Port for the ferry crossing to Gilimanuk, and finally, be transferred back to your accommodation in Bali, concluding your adventurous tour.
