Description

Leave the crowds behind and experience the quiet heart of Bali. Your journey begins with a scenic drive through a lush tropical landscape and a stop at a traditional flower market. At the foot of Mount Batukaru, you arrive at the small mountain village, surrounded by picturesque rice terraces and pure mountain air. You’re warmly welcomed by the Balikaru family, whose hospitality reflects the deep-rooted sense of community that defines rural Bali. Enjoy a walk through the Balikaru garden, home to more than 40 species of tropical plants. Here, you’ll discover the herbs and spices that flavor Balinese cooking and Jamu—Indonesia’s ancient herbal wellness drink. The scent of lemongrass, cloves, and galangal fills the air as you sip your refreshing welcome drink. Gentle sounds of the Rindik, a traditional bamboo instrument, accompany the moment—and you’re invited to try playing it yourself. Then begins the spiritual heart of your journey: a purification and blessing ceremony in a secluded jungle temple by a tranquil river. This sacred experience, led by a local Balinese priest, offers a rare insight into Hindu rituals that few visitors ever see. Dressed in traditional temple attire, you’ll prepare small flower offerings and learn their meanings. Your guide is by your side, translating not just words but symbols—explaining each gesture and mantra. The air is filled with the scent of incense and the soft sound of sacred bells, marking each step of the ritual. As the cool water of the river is poured over you, a sense of calm and renewal washes through—a blessing for body, mind, and spirit. After the ceremony, enjoy a homemade Balinese lunch at Warung Balikaru. The Nasi Campur Tumpeng—a vibrant dish with red rice—is served with vegetables, meat, and fragrant spices. It is a feast of flavor and color, lovingly prepared from local ingredients. Your afternoon unfolds with authentic encounters in the village. Join the farmer in planting rice and experience this timeless rhythm of Balinese life. Visit the small Balikaru farm, home to ducks, geese, and Manis, the gentle cow who loves to be fed by visitors. Discover the world of the stingless Trigona bees, whose honey is both rare and full of health benefits. Before saying goodbye, take a leisurely walk through the mountain village. Meet friendly locals, see traditional houses, and visit the sacred Belulang Hot Springs, where villagers bathe in natural sulfur water. If you wish, follow their tradition and enjoy a refreshing dip yourself. As your day draws to a close, your journey continues through Bali’s breathtaking countryside. The road leads past spectacular rice terraces before reaching your final stop—the Air Terjun Pengempu, a hidden waterfall in a tropical forest. This serene place is the perfect ending to a day filled with nature, culture, and meaning. You return to your hotel in the late afternoon, carrying the calm and connection that Bali’s spiritual heart so generously offers.

A note at this point out of respect for the Balinese faith: Pregnant women and female guests during their menstruation are not allowed to enter temples. This may seem a little strange to us. However, please keep in mind that during this tour, the Balinese will give you deep insights into their traditions and even allow you to participate in them. For this reason, you should accept it & show the necessary respect for the people and their beliefs.
