Description

Ngobaran Beach is not only a place of natural beauty but also a site of deep spiritual significance. Known among local and international spiritual seekers as a center of pure energy, it is uniquely positioned between the vast Indian Ocean, the green hills of Kanigoro Wonosari, and underground freshwater streams that flow out at several points along the shoreline. Myth and history come together here. According to Javanese legend, this was the place where King Brawijaya V, the last ruler of the Majapahit Empire, came to purify himself from all sins and mistakes in order to reach a higher spiritual state. With the strong presence of the four natural elements—water, earth, air, and fire—Ngobaran has been a sacred site for meditation and spiritual rituals since ancient times. As you enter the beach area, you will find remarkable cultural and religious landmarks. The Segara Wukir Temple, a Hindu temple facing the ocean, serves as the main site for the annual Melasti purification ceremony in Java. To its west lies a symbolic replica of the Yogyakarta Palace complex, while further inland stands the Kejawan Monument, decorated with wayang (shadow puppet) figures that embody the Javanese philosophy of Hasta Brata—the eight noble virtues of life: honesty, morality, love, loyalty, obedience, dedication, compassion, and wisdom. High above on the hill, the Kejawan Temple offers breathtaking views of the shoreline, rolling hills, and the endless ocean horizon. This 1-day meditation package invites you to experience both the outer beauty and inner essence of Ngobaran. Your journey includes visits to the temples and monuments, time to enjoy the dramatic coastline, and a sacred cleansing ritual by bathing in a natural spring that emerges from the rocks near the beach. You will then be guided through meditation (manekung or semedi) at a sacred spot, with times and locations adjusted according to natural conditions and the needs of the group. The experience also includes a special cultural highlight: a photo session wearing traditional Balinese or Javanese attire with the exotic temple background. All meals and drinks during the program are provided, along with English- or Indonesian-speaking guides and an experienced spiritual practitioner who will accompany you as both guide and consultant. Your private tour will be arranged with a comfortable vehicle, professional English-speaking driver, fuel, parking, and entrance tickets. Facilities such as toilets and changing rooms are available. For those seeking a deeper experience, optional add-ons include extended spiritual cleansing or healing rituals, complete with offerings (sesaji) and a ceremonial tumpeng (traditional cone-shaped rice dish) to symbolize gratitude and shared blessings for your intentions. This journey is designed to harmonize body, mind, and spirit, offering not just sightseeing but a profound inner exploration in one of Java’s most sacred coastal sanctuaries.
