Description

At the start of your tour, choose to get picked up from your accommodation and drive through the Bali countryside or meet your guide directly at the Ubud Monkey Forest Sanctuary. There, see the monkeys roaming around in their natural habitat. From the monkey sanctuary, head north of Ubud to visit Kumulilir. Challenge yourself to ride the 20-meter Jungle Swing to the jungle valley or rice terraces, at your own expense. Enjoy the views and take instagrammable pictures during this once-in-a-lifetime experience. On the way back to Ubud, pass by the Ceking Rice Terrace at Tegalalang to marvel at the UNESCO-listed rice paddies, one of Bali’s most iconic sights. Learn about the pioneering subak system (the Balinese cooperative irrigation system) for which the terraces are known.  Finish your tour by being dropped back to your accommodation in Ubud, if option selected. This tour involves some walking and stair climbing at the Monkey Forest and Rice Terrace; comfortable shoes are recommended. Monkeys in the sanctuary are wild animals—please avoid direct contact, do not feed them, and secure your belongings. Traffic in Ubud can be heavy during peak hours; travel times may vary Weather in Ubud can change quickly; short rain showers are common, especially in jungle areas. Bring some cash for your personal expenses. Rice terrace areas may be muddy or slippery depending on recent weather. Respect local culture at temple areas or viewpoints within Tegalalang.
