• Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear — some areas at the waterfalls involve stairs, rocks, and slippery surfaces. You may get wet at Tibumana or Kanto Lampo; bring a towel and a change of clothes if you plan to swim. Modest attire is required at Tirta Empul; shoulders and knees must be covered. According to Balinese tradition, women who are on their period are not allowed to enter the temple grounds or participate in rituals at Tirta Empul. Bring a waterproof bag to protect your phone and valuables at the waterfalls. Some paths at Tegalalang and the waterfalls may be uneven — walk carefully. Bring cash for your personal expenses.
