MEDIVAC - Medical Evacuation

AIR BALI is constantly involved with air ambulance and medical evacuation flights from remote islands around Bali. With their knowledge of these islands and the ever-changing weather conditions, they are able to deliver safe evacuations in the shortest time. Air Bali have agreements with the major medical institutions in Bali to transport critically ill and/or injured patients from remote islands to Bali. With the newest addition to the fleet, a Piper Cheyenne PA 42-1000, Air Bali can now transport patients internationally to Singapore, Perth, Darwin or Dili.

Bell 206L3 Helicopter

In operation from 06.30 am until 18.00 pm every day, 7 days a week. Cruising speed of 225 km/h. A doctor always accompanies a Medivac flight to assist the patient when the helicopter arrives on the scene.

Piper Cheyenne PA42-1000 (400LS)

This twin-engine turboprop aircraft is in operation 24 hours every day, 7 days a week, and is equipped with a Medpak 400 fully functional medical stretcher, 3 x medium-sized oxygen tanks, ventilator, defibrilator, suction pump, monitors and IV stands.

A large cargo door makes it easy to lift patients in and out of the aircraft without having to tilt the stretcher. The plane can accommodate two stretchers at a time.


This aircraft cruises at 600 km/h, and can land at most airstrips in Indonesia. Advanced avionics and IFR instrumentation allow the aircraft to fly at night, at an altitude of 35,000 ft - above most weather conditions.


The Piper Cheyenne can make direct air ambulance flights from Denpasar to international destinations such as Perth (4.5 hrs), Singapore (3 hrs), Darwin (3.2 hrs) and Manila (4 hrs).

A qualified and highly-trained medical team assists in each air ambulance flight.
