Ethan Balno is a WingChun Kuen, TaiJi Quan, XingYi Quan Instructor who makes Wooden Dummies for Martial Arts, which he has been practising for more than twenty-two years. For the past 14 years he has centred his study and practice on WingChun Kuen and the internal martial arts. His martial arts school, equipment production and permanent residence are in Bali.
Because he has been practicing WingChun Kuen for many years and have much experience and knowledge about the Wooden Dummy he feel it was necessary to do most of the work himself so that everything is made correctly. He is a skilled carpenter, producing Wooden Dummies for the past 3 years.
The wooden dummies are made from the best Old Teak Wood from Java, Indonesia, one of the best places for Old Teak Wood, that is the trees were at least 60 years old when they were cut down and also the wood has been maturing for many years, thus making it the best quality wood for dojo models. Much of the wood is recovered from very old teak houses, boats or furniture.
