Description
This tour is designed for travelers who want to see a side of Bali that most visitors never find. Instead of crowded viewpoints and busy tourist stops, you will spend the day in hidden places that are rarely visited by tourists or tour groups: a quiet village, secluded rice field paths, and a small valley far from the hustle of mass tourism. After pickup, drive north of Ubud to Timbul Village, a small traditional village where daily life continues at its own pace. Your guide introduces the village, its customs and its community, then leads you on an easy walk of about 1 to 1.5 hours along hidden, flat rice field paths. Along the way, learn how subak works, the traditional irrigation system that Balinese farmers have used for centuries to share water fairly between their fields. Next, step inside a traditional Balinese house compound. Discover how the family temple, kitchen, pavilions and courtyard are arranged according to Balinese philosophy, and get a genuine glimpse into everyday local life. Lunch is simple and honest: home-style Balinese food served at a humble spot overlooking a small, lush valley. It is not a fancy restaurant, but the calm setting, the green scenery and the sounds of nature make it one of the most peaceful moments of the day. In the afternoon, continue to Ulu Petanu Waterfall, a quieter waterfall surrounded by tropical forest, where you can take photos or relax by the natural pool. Nearby, walk through an ancient water cave carved by hand by local farmers as part of the subak irrigation system. Seeing how water was once channeled through the hills completes the story of the rice fields you walked in the morning. Finish the day with a relaxing drive back to your hotel, with a deeper understanding of how water, farming and community shape life in rural Bali.Includes

- The rice field walk is on flat paths, but can be muddy or slippery after rain. Reaching the waterfall requires about 90 steps down and back up. Parts of the water cave are narrow and wet; not suitable for those with claustrophobia. Not recommended for travelers with limited mobility. Wear comfortable shoes that can get wet or dirty. Bring swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes if you plan to swim. Swimming is at your own risk; follow the guide's instructions. Dress modestly for the village and house visit (shoulders and knees covered). The village and house compound are real homes; please be respectful of residents. Lunch is a simple home-style meal, not a restaurant. Farming activities seen in the fields depend on the season. The guide may adjust the schedule for safety after heavy rain.
