The Equator runs across much of Indonesia, cutting through the provinces of Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Maluku. Java, Bali, Lombok and most of Nusa Tenggara lie at 8º below the Equator. It stands to reason, then, that Bali enjoys a tropical climate all year round, with temperatures ranging from 20°C at night up to about 34°C during the day. Although daytime temperatures tend to be around 32 °C, high humidity makes it feel warmer than it actually is.

Bali has two seasons: the dry season from April to October, and the wet season (monsoon) from October to March. The best months to visit Bali are from April to October, when rainfall is less frequent. Inland areas such as Ubud and Munduk tend to be cooler, so expect big temperature changes if you are travelling from the south to the north of Bali and back in one day. Take a plastic raincoat and a hat, and also a warm top.
