Description

Begin your adventure with a hike up Batu Kursi Hill, located in Pemuteran Village, Gerokgak District, Buleleng Regency. This 700-meter-above-sea-level hilltop is the best spot for sunrise and sunset. Hike for about 20-30 minutes along a stair-like path along the main trail. Along the trail, be treated to a breathtaking view of the hills. Although this spot is open daily with unlimited hours, the best time to visit is around sunrise and sunset. If you're looking for sunrise, start your hike around 5:00 AM. If the weather is clear, see panoramic views of Mount Ijen and Mount Raung from the hilltop. Those who want to enjoy the sunset should start their hike around 5:00 PM. The exhaustion of the climb will be rewarded when you reach the highest point of Batu Kursi Hill. From the summit, enjoy the cool air, the blue views of Pemuteran Bay to the north, the rows of hills on the other side, and the golden sky at sunrise and sunset. Batu Kursi Hill is also known as a two-season tourist destination. During the rainy season, the expanse of hills is green, and during the dry season, the hills turn brown. Atop Batu Kursi Hill is a temple revered by Hindus. Because it is located within the temple area, visitors are required to observe proper behavior and words. Women who are menstruating are not permitted to approach or enter the temple grounds. Although the hiking trail up Batu Kursi Hill is relatively easy, you still need to be physically fit. Please also protect the environment around the hill by refraining from littering or vandalizing.
