Welcome to our immersive 3-hour pottery class, where you’ll explore the art of creating beautiful ceramic pieces using both the pottery wheel and hand-building techniques. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, this class is designed to help you unleash your creativity and learn the fundamentals of pottery in a fun, hands-on environment. What You’ll Learn: 1. Introduction to Pottery (15 minutes) - A brief overview of pottery history and its significance. - Introduction to the tools, materials, and equipment you’ll be using (clay, pottery wheel, carving tools, sponges, etc.). - Safety tips and best practices for working with clay. 2. Wheel Throwing (1 hour 15 minutes) - Centering the Clay: Learn how to prepare and center the clay on the wheel, a crucial step for creating symmetrical pieces. - Pulling and Shaping: Discover how to use your hands to pull the clay upward and shape it into forms like bowls, cups, or vases. - Trimming and Finishing: Use specialized tools to refine your piece, smooth edges, and add decorative details. 3.
