Bebek Bengil Dirty Duck Diner
Bali
When it first opened, Bebek Bengil Dirty Duck Diner had only 25 seats. Now, nearly 13 years later, there are over 350 seats and the restaurant is home to one of the largest restaurant gardens in the world. There are lotus ponds with large elephant leaf plants dotted all around the place, shading Balinese statues - along with breathtaking panoramic views of the beautiful surrounding rice fields. Renovated in 2001, the restaurant is housed in a stunning building of high ceilings and open walls, with wooden furnishings and lashings of lush greenery and lanterns. Popular with the locals, it also welcome the many visitors who come from far and wide to try the tasty cuisine. These have included such celebrated guests as Mick Jagger and Sting, and politicians such as the Indonesian president.
The food is colourful, flavourful and healthful, all presented so artistically that you'll hesitate to disturb its beauty ... but only for a moment! Choose from Peking duck, tempura prawns, creamy cheesecakes and many, many more.
