Potato Head Beach Club
Bali
Potato Head Beach Club makes its mark as one of Bali's prestige locations amongst some of the best restaurants, bars, and retail outlets. 'We wanted to create something original from Indonesia that could be seen and enjoyed by the Indonesian and international audience,' says co-owner Ronald Akili.
'The menus in Potato Head bistro are based on nostalgic home recipes and personal memories from our travels. We put our own collection in the restaurant, from the artwork to the furniture. We want people to see that we put our soul into each project and that we've invited them into our lives,' adds Ronald.
Since PHBC's opening in 2010, both owners have gained numerous international recognitions from various publications and media. Known for its multi-cultural blend of gastronomy, libations and entertainment which imbues music, art and fashion at the same time, PHBC has given Bali and its visitors the best of island living with a memorable and fun experience.
PHBC offers 3 restaurants, each presenting its own distinctive personality. Potato Head Bistro serves comfort food inspired by international home cooked recipes. Lilin offers a tapas selection of South East Asian cuisine and choices of exotic live seafood as its main highlight. The journey is not complete without savouring Chef Take's dishes made with passion and love.
Designed by acclaimed architect Andra Matin as a modern take on the Coliseum, the towering elliptical facade is crafted in Potato Head's seminal trademark of mismatched 18th century teak shutters collected from across Indonesia. The beachfront bar and 500 m2 emerald lawn leading to an infinity pool all fits within a state-of-the-art amphitheatre.
Covering three distinctly different dining options, lounge bar, infinity pool and a large lush grassed area, the entire place hums. At any one time there can be possibly 500 like-minded people enjoying the sounds from the resident DJ, who polishes the whole experience.
The tapas menu looks tantalizing, and the food arriving around you confirms it. The cocktail list is another story - new names, new mixes, new colours.
