Animal and Bird Parks
Bali Zoo is home to more than 350 creatures in 22 acres of lush vegetation, with gently rolling terrain, simulating the animals' natural habitat. Situated in the cultural heart of Bali, the zoo is only a ten minute drive from Ubud and about forty five minutes from the tourist areas of Kuta, Tuban, Legian and Seminyak. The sandy white beaches of Sanur are a twenty minute drive away. Nearby you can grab a bargain at the Sukawati market, or head into Ubud to visit some exquisite galleries and boutiques. Take a drive and discover hidden temples, lush green rice terraces, and the world famous smiles of the locals.
Come and spend a day and experience the beauty of Bali Zoo surroundings, learn about awesome animals, and hopefully create memories that you will cherish for a long time. Bali's only zoo, is a 'Nature's Education Centre'. Friendly staff are eager to show you around, talk to you about animals, how to make their lives more comfortable, and what YOU can do if you would like to help. Bali Zoo staff have a 'hands on' approach to conservation education, and love to share ideas with you.
Visitors are welcomed by the lion family, the warm song of the Siamangs, a lazy gigantic crocodile, and the biggest lizard in the world, the Komodo Dragon! Plus Sumatran elephant, Sumatran tiger, orangutan, sun bear, kangaroos, camels, deer and Binturong; reptiles like iguanas, pythons, green snakes; birds like cassowaries, peacocks, and Bali Starlings and many more animals.
Daily program includes feeding of the lions, crocodiles and tigers, and if it's cute and cuddly that you're after - why not head down to the petting area and snuggle with a baby monkey? All of the inhabitants are fully cared for by the resident veterinarian, and the Zoo is a bird flu free environment.
