Safari / Nature Tours in Bali

If you’ve spent any time in Bali, you know it’s not just beaches and temples. The island’s wild side has its own stories , rich forests, curious monkeys, colorful birds, even rare butterflies. And yes, there’s a safari vibe too, but it’s more laid-back than you might expect.

One of my favorite spots is the Bali Safari & Marine Park in Gianyar. It’s not a zoo in the usual sense , here, animals roam spacious habitats and you get to see Sumatran tigers and elephants up close. Just watch the afternoon feeding time; it’s a real crowd pleaser. For something quieter, I recommend trekking through the West Bali National Park, especially if you enjoy birdwatching. Early mornings are the best, before the island heats up and the trails get crowded.

If you want to skip the crowds entirely, there are small group tours to hidden waterfalls deep in the jungle near Munduk or Sidemen, places I still visit when I need a break. And hey, if you time it right during the rainy season (roughly November to March), the forests feel like a whole new world , lush and wild but also slippery, so pack shoes with good grip! Bali’s nature tours aren’t just about seeing sights, they can be little adventures too.
