Description
Head north from Ubud on this private full-day trip to Tukad Pakerisan in Tampak Siring, listed as one of UNESCO World Heritage sites. The city was the former capital of the Ancient Bali Kingdom. Visit Gunung Kawi, a pre-Hindu temple complex still breathing the atmosphere of ancient legends. Hear long-lost tales of forgotten Balinese kings who lived in an obscure but important period of Balinese history. The temples are believed to be constructed in the 11th century. Next head south to Yeh Pulu, one of several fascinating archaeological sites that you can visit in the central Bali highland village of Bedulu. Admire an impressive 25m-long display of carvings etched into a rock face, depicting mythological characters, Hindu gods, as well as people going about normal village life. Continue to Pura Samuan Tiga, a 10th century temple in the village of Bedulu in Gianyar. The temple dates back to the Warmadewa dynasty. The old temple is a great place to see ancient Balinese temple architecture up close. It features ornate sandstone carvings and majestic temple gates. The visit ends at the Bali Gedong Arca, or Bali Archeological Museum, which is an archaeological museum located in Tampak Siring Village. Tour the museum's collection of heritage objects collected over the centuries.Includes
