Description
Escape the heat and hustle of central Ubud for a tranquil evening in the Taro highlands. Your culinary journey begins with a convenient pickup from Ubud meeting point at 4:00 PM. As you leave the city behind, you will feel the air get cooler and the atmosphere calmer. Upon arrival at the Taman Dukuh Organic Farm, you are welcomed with warm Balinese coffee or tea as the sun begins to lower over the village. Guided by your expert chef, you will explore the lush organic estate to learn the secrets of sustainable Balinese agriculture. This is a true farm-to-table experience: you will hand-pick your own fresh ingredients—such as long beans, chilies, and lemongrass—directly from the source. In the soft light of the late afternoon, this harvest connects you deeply to the land and the food you are about to create. Step into our traditional open-air kitchen for your hands-on cooking lesson. We believe food tastes best when it is fresh, so we follow a unique 'Cook-Eat-Cook-Eat' style. You will grind spices for the Base Gede (spice paste), cook your appetizers, and sit down to enjoy them immediately while they are hot and crispy. This relaxed pace allows you to chat with your chef and fellow travelers without feeling rushed. You will then return to your station to prepare the main courses and dessert. The evening culminates in a grand family-style dinner. Savor the 6-course feast you created—whether you chose the Regular, Vegetarian, or Vegan menu—surrounded by the symphony of nature. Enjoy the sounds of crickets and frogs, and other nature sounds during the nigth. It is the perfect blend of an educational workshop and a cultural countryside dinner.Includes
